AÇÃO DIRETA was formed in 1987 in São Bernardo do Campo, ABC Region in São Paulo State, known as an industrial area whose past is linked to the Brazilian Working Class conflicts, fights and conquers in the late 70´s and early 80´s. Since its beginning, the band has always searched for their own identity, developing a fast, heavy and furious sound style, allied with strong lyrics with high liberty and denunciation content.
The major influences came from a strong blend full of attitude and energy
from Punk and Crossover, the fast pace from Hardcore allied with technique
and aggressiveness from Thrash Metal. With dedication and lots of work,
the band has been gathering a legion of fans and followers through these
years, throughout Brazilian territory as well as all over the world, due
to their several releases and tours within the country, in Argentina and
all over Europe, where so far the band has had a chance to accomplish
three major tours (1997, 1999 and 2001), playing in several countries
such as Portugal, Spain, Euskadi, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Czech Republic.
